Overview
The engine room of a $2B+ cost platform
CloudFix is an AWS cost-optimization platform operating at enterprise scale — managing $2B+ in cloud spend across 500+ companies. My work sat in the engine room: the automation that finds savings opportunities and safely acts on them, without a human in the loop.
The hard part isn't finding waste — it's remediating it automatically across a large fleet of tenants without breaking anything. Every fixer had to be safe to run unattended, so correctness and guardrails mattered as much as the savings themselves.
What I built
Finders, fixers, and hard cost caps
- Around 20 automated "finders and fixers" that continuously scan AWS accounts for savings and auto-remediate them in TypeScript and Python.
- Per-tenant cost caps that pulled outlier spend from $3M+ down to under a $2M target.
- Guardrailed, unattended remediation designed to run safely across a fleet serving 500+ enterprises.
